Senior Program Officer, Assistive Technology

About the role

The Senior Program Officer, Assistive Technology will lead CHAI’s Assistive Technology (AT) program in Zambia, working closely with the Ministry of Health and key partners to build sustainable systems that increase access to quality, affordable assistive products.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and oversee AT program activities aligned with national priorities.
• Support the rapid Assistive Technology Assessment (rATA) and development of the national Assistive Product List.
• Strengthen governance, financing and service‑delivery mechanisms for AT.
• Facilitate market‑system development and data‑use strategies to improve product availability.
• Coordinate with government agencies, development partners, and disability organisations to ensure integrated AT solutions.
• Monitor program performance, produce reports and share learnings globally.

Required profile

• Advanced degree in public health, international development, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience managing health‑related programs in low‑ and middle‑income countries.
• Demonstrated experience working with ministries of health and multi‑stakeholder partnerships.
• Strong analytical, communication and leadership abilities.
