About the role

The Senior Security Officer will lead the airline’s security operations at the airport, ensuring all activities align with the Aviation Security programme, SOPs and national regulations. This role safeguards aircraft, passengers, crew, baggage and cargo while coordinating with ground handling agents and regulatory authorities.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee pre‑flight security checks, catering security controls and aircraft access procedures.
• Audit ground handling agents, cargo and catering providers against service level agreements.
• Conduct ad‑hoc flight security observations from check‑in through boarding and arrivals.
• Monitor and manage contracted security service providers, ensuring compliance with SLAs.
• Prepare and file monitoring, inspection and incident reports for senior management.
• Initiate and manage access permit applications, including renewal and surrender.
• Detect, prevent and investigate security offences within the airline system.
• Coordinate patrolling of gates, buildings, installations and aircraft, including surprise checks.
• Collect and relay security‑related information on suspicious activities to authorities.
