Surveyor / Fulfilment Buyer – MRO Procurement

About the role

Twyford International is seeking a proactive Surveyor (Fulfilment Buyer) to support its Procurement Team in Zambia. The role focuses on sourcing and managing MRO (spare parts) and non‑metal raw materials essential for continuous manufacturing operations.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive surveys of raw materials such as ceramics, cement and glass‑related inputs to identify high‑quality, cost‑effective sources.
• Evaluate geological data and field reports to support strategic sourcing decisions and assess deposit quality and sustainability.
• Oversee raw material mining and supply operations, ensuring consistent availability while complying with company specifications and regulations.
• Build and maintain relationships with mining companies, survey organisations and government geological departments.
• Lead supplier identification, qualification and negotiation to secure favourable commercial terms and long‑term partnerships.
• Monitor market trends and technological developments in non‑metal materials to optimise sourcing strategies.
• Ensure all sourcing activities adhere to environmental, health and safety standards and relevant regulations.
• Provide technical input to internal teams on material specifications, testing and performance optimisation.
• Prepare and present survey reports, cost analyses and procurement forecasts for management decision‑making.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Mining Engineering, Materials Science or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 + years relevant experience in material sourcing, surveying or procurement.
• Strong analytical ability to interpret geological data and assess supplier performance.
