General Ledger Accountant – Finance Team

About the role

We are looking for a highly motivated and detail‑oriented General Ledger Accountant to join our Finance team in Lusaka. You will be responsible for maintaining the integrity of the general ledger, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and supporting month‑end and year‑end closing processes.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain accurate general ledger accounts and journal entries.
• Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual account reconciliations.
• Ensure timely and accurate month‑end and year‑end financial close processes.
• Review and analyse financial transactions for compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
• Assist in the preparation of management accounts and financial statements.
• Support internal and external audit processes by providing required documentation and explanations.
• Ensure compliance with statutory and tax requirements.
• Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies and variances.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis activities.
• Maintain effective internal controls and contribute to continuous process improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Full Grade 12 Certificate and a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of hands‑on accounting experience, preferably in a similar industry.
• ACC​A or ZICA certification is an advantage.
• Strong understanding of Zambian tax laws, accounting standards and IFRS.
• Excellent analytical, organisational and problem‑solving abilities.
• High level of accuracy, integrity and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and meet strict deadlines.
