Health and Nutrition Officer

About the role

Action Against Hunger USA is seeking a Health and Nutrition Officer to support the implementation of nutrition programmes at the field level across its operations. The role will focus on acute malnutrition management, infant nutrition, integrated case management of childhood illnesses and behaviour‑change communication, working closely with WASH and food‑security teams.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise daily implementation of nutrition activities, ensuring integration of acute malnutrition, MAMi, MIYCAN, BFHI, ICCM and SBCC programmes at health facilities and community outreaches.
• Identify and verify programme participants, monitor progress, and produce timely reports.
• Provide technical support and capacity‑building to VHTs, care‑group volunteers, health workers and district officials.
• Coordinate with local governmental, non‑governmental partners and international aid organisations to exchange information, train staff and influence technical choices.
• Collaborate with WASH and Food Security officers to ensure multi‑sectoral integration.

Required profile

• Relevant experience in nutrition, public health or humanitarian programmes.
• Experience working with community health structures and district health systems.
• Strong monitoring and reporting skills.
• Ability to work in field settings and liaise with diverse stakeholders.
