Health and Nutrition Officer

About the role

The Health and Nutrition Officer will support the implementation of nutrition and health interventions at the field level for Action Against Hunger. This position works closely with community health volunteers, district teams, and other sector officers to ensure integrated, high‑quality services for vulnerable populations.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise daily implementation of acute malnutrition management, MIYCAN, MAMi, ICCM, and SBCC activities.
• Support capacity‑building of VHTs, care‑group volunteers, health workers, and district staff.
• Coordinate with WASH and Food Security officers to integrate multi‑sector activities.
• Identify and verify programme participants, monitor progress, and report on performance indicators.
• Provide technical guidance to ensure compliance with sphere standards and programme targets.

Required profile

• Experience in community‑based nutrition or health programmes, preferably in humanitarian settings.
• Ability to work closely with local partners, government agencies, and international NGOs.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills for field‑level troubleshooting.
