Kenneth Kaunda Graduate Immersion Programme – 9‑Month Internship in Lusaka

About the role

The Economic, Social and Cultural Council (ECOSOCC) is offering a nine‑month Graduate Immersion Programme for recent Zambian graduates. Trainees will be based at the ECOSOCC Secretariat in Lusaka, contributing to policy research, project coordination and stakeholder engagement within the African Union framework.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct policy research and draft briefing notes for AU meetings.
• Support the coordination of projects and programmes across ECOSOCC.
• Engage with civil‑society partners and AU bodies to gather inputs and disseminate outcomes.
• Assist senior staff in preparing reports, presentations and communication materials.

Required profile

• Under 35 years of age at the time of application.
• Master’s or bachelor’s degree in social sciences, business administration, communication, law or a related field obtained within the last five years.
• Academic distinction of Merit or higher.
• Strong analytical, research and writing abilities.
• Fluency in written and spoken English; knowledge of French or another AU working language is an advantage.
