Neurocognitive Research Assistant Intern (Lusaka)

About the role

This internship supports a neurocognitive research project in Lusaka, focusing on the assessment of brain health and dementia in older adults. You will work under supervision to administer screening tools, collect data, and engage with community participants.

Key responsibilities

• Administer standardized neurocognitive screening and assessment tools, recording participant responses accurately.
• Assist with participant recruitment, screening, informed consent, appointment scheduling, and follow‑up visits.
• Collect, review, and enter study data using paper forms and electronic systems such as RedCap; perform routine data quality checks.
• Maintain and organize digital and physical study records while ensuring confidentiality.
• Support coordination with health facilities and community partners to facilitate data collection and build trust.
• Adhere to study protocols, Good Clinical Practice (GCP), and ethical standards; report adverse events or protocol deviations.
• Provide administrative support for documentation, inventory, study meetings, and audit preparation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Psychology or Educational Psychology.
• Strong interest in research, aging, brain health, or dementia.
• Effective communication in English, Bemba, and Nyanja.
• Willingness to conduct community‑based fieldwork.
• Basic computer proficiency for data entry and Microsoft Office.
