About the role
The Programme Assistant will support the implementation of the Global Environment Facility Small Grants Programme (SGP) under UNDP. Working closely with the National Coordinator, the assistant helps channel grants to community‑based organisations addressing biodiversity, climate change, land degradation and related environmental challenges.
Key responsibilities
- Support day‑to‑day programme and project implementation, ensuring alignment with results, outputs and work‑plans.
- Assist the National Coordinator in prescreening project concepts and proposals, including financial evaluation.
- Help develop and revise grant application forms, management tools and programme documentation.
- Provide guidance to potential grantees on project preparation, guidelines and submission processes.
- Prepare regular reports for the National Coordinator and the National Steering Committee.
Required profile
- Experience in programme or project implementation within an international development context.
- Ability to assess financial aspects of grant proposals.
- Familiarity with grant application procedures and documentation.
- Strong communication skills for advising grantees and reporting to senior staff.
