Senior Human Capital Practitioner – Kitwe, Zambia

About the role

The Senior Human Capital Practitioner will lead the delivery of core HR operations in Kitwe, ensuring compliance, data integrity, and strong partnership with line managers. This role supports both strategic and transactional HR activities across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Manage key HR operational processes including payroll input, reconciliation, recruitment and other cyclical activities.
• Interpret, advise on, and ensure compliance with HR policies, ethical standards and legal requirements.
• Review and update HR policies and procedures in consultation with employees and line managers; coach managers on policy application.
• Assist line managers with employee relations issues and organizational design standards.
• Support employees on new and existing HR policies and procedures.
• Maintain accurate employee data in line with government regulations.
• Collate and manage data for document submissions and statutory reporting, such as overtime exemptions.
• Develop and sustain strong working relationships with line managers and staff.
• Ensure corporate and HR governance are consistently applied.

Required profile

• Full Grade 12 Certificate.
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management or a related field (Master’s degree is a plus).
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a human capital role covering core HR functions.
• Experience within a structured HR framework, preferably in the mining sector.
• Exposure to union management is advantageous.
• Member of the Zambia Institute of Human Resource Management.
