Warehouse & Tuck‑Shop Assistant

About the role

We are looking for a diligent Warehouse & Tuck‑Shop Assistant to support the daily operations of our hospital’s supply chain and on‑site shop. The role combines stock handling, inventory control and friendly customer service for staff, caregivers and visitors.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and verify deliveries against purchase orders and delivery notes.
• Record and update stock levels in the inventory management system.
• Organise and store items safely for easy retrieval.
• Issue stock to departments based on approved requisitions.
• Monitor stock levels, report low or expiring items and assist with regular stock counts.
• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the warehouse at all times.
• Serve customers in the tuck‑shop courteously and efficiently.
• Operate the cash register, handle cash accurately and produce receipts.
• Replenish shelves, maintain attractive product displays and rotate stock by expiry dates.
• Support daily sales reconciliation and submit cash to Finance as required.
• Identify fast‑moving and slow‑moving items to guide restocking decisions.
• Ensure compliance with hospital procurement and inventory control procedures.

Required profile

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in stock handling.
• Good numeracy skills and ability to handle cash responsibly.
• Customer‑service orientation with a friendly, professional attitude.
• Ability to follow procedures and maintain compliance.
• Physical stamina for lifting, carrying and standing for extended periods.
• Teamwork, reliability and a strong work ethic.
