Artisan Fitter

About the role

First Quantum is seeking an Artisan Fitter to maintain mining equipment to OEM specifications. The role involves performing preventative and routine maintenance on crushers and related plant, ensuring reliable operation in remote, technically challenging environments.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out preventive maintenance and routine servicing on crushers, screens, conveyor belts and drive motors.
• Record all service actions and repairs in equipment logs.
• Troubleshoot breakdowns, diagnose faults and coordinate repairs as needed.
• Interpret workshop manuals, hydraulic diagrams and basic electrical schematics.
• Support the maintenance team by completing delegated tasks and contributing to overall equipment reliability.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience repairing crusher plants and related equipment.
• Ability to work professionally in a remote, safety‑focused environment.
• Strong organizational skills and the capacity to meet deadlines.
• Honesty, integrity and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Effective communication in English, both written and oral.

Required skills

• Troubleshooting of mechanical equipment.
• Knowledge of hydraulic systems and ability to read hydraulic diagrams.
• Basic electrical fault‑finding skills.
• Experience with primary and secondary crushers, screens, conveyor belts and drive motors.
