Construction Superintendent – Tailings Storage Facility

About the role

The Construction Superintendent will lead the safe, compliant and efficient construction of Tailings Storage Facilities (TSF) for First Quantum at the Kansanshi Mining site. This senior leadership position blends civil‑engineering expertise with a strong focus on safety, environmental stewardship and cost‑effective execution.

Key responsibilities

• Lead all TSF construction activities, ensuring strict adherence to HSE standards, permit‑to‑work systems and environmental controls.
• Drive a proactive safety culture across contractors and site teams in high‑risk environments.
• Execute construction works according to approved drawings, specifications and schedules while monitoring productivity and cost.
• Identify bottlenecks, manage risks and implement practical solutions to keep projects on track.
• Conduct regular inspections, enforce QA/QC procedures and guarantee quality outcomes.
• Mentor junior engineers on engineering principles, practical application and professional ethics.

Required profile

• Proven operational leadership in large‑scale civil construction projects.
