Database Administrator – MongoDB (Experienced L1)

About the role

The MongoDB Administrator will provide operational support, monitoring, and maintenance for MongoDB database environments that power business applications and services. The role is focused on routine administration, health monitoring, backup support, incident response, and overall operational upkeep in a production support setting.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor MongoDB database availability, health, performance, storage utilization, and replication status.
• Perform routine operational maintenance, patching, and version upgrades.
• Support backup and recovery operations, including restore procedures.
• Manage user access and security administration.
• Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve database incidents; escalate complex issues as needed.
• Assist application teams with connectivity and operational database queries.
• Maintain documentation, procedures, and compliance standards.
• Participate in after‑hours maintenance and update tickets in ITSM systems.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of experience in database or infrastructure support.
• Practical experience supporting MongoDB environments.
• Diploma or degree in Information Technology or related field (advantageous).
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure, follow defined support procedures, and collaborate in a team‑oriented environment.
