Electrician – Electrical Maintenance & Distribution

About the role

We are looking for a qualified Electrician to join our maintenance team, supporting the electrical distribution and process plant systems. The role reports to the Electrical Supervisor and focuses on ensuring safe, efficient, and cost‑effective operation of high‑voltage and low‑voltage equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform day‑to‑day maintenance, installation, repair, and troubleshooting of electrical distribution systems, transformers, substations, switchgear, circuit breakers and auxiliary circuits.
• Conduct preventive and corrective work on 33 kV, 11 kV and 525 V equipment, including protective relays, metering and control circuits.
• Use testing and measuring instruments to verify load calculations, diagnose faults, and restore equipment to operational condition.
• Interpret electrical diagrams and schematics, especially for ABB and Siemens protective relays and MCCs.
• Locate and service underground cables and maintain standby generators and UPS systems.
• Document work performed, maintain records of equipment, and ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory standards.

Required profile

• Grade 12 Certificate and a Craft Certificate in Electrical Engineering.
• Ability to drive a light vehicle.
• Experience with high‑voltage (33 kV, 11 kV) and low‑voltage (525 V) electrical systems.
