Finance and Grants Officer

About the role

Action Against Hunger Zambia is seeking a Finance and Grants Officer to manage daily financial transactions, budgets and grant compliance. Reporting to the Support Services Manager, the role supports senior management and collaborates with program, logistics and administration teams to ensure accurate accounting and adherence to donor and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Execute day‑to‑day financial transactions and maintain accurate financial records for ACF‑Zambia.
• Prepare and submit timely accountancy bundles, budget forecasts and financial statements in line with internal policies, IFRS and Zambian regulations.
• Perform monthly bank reconciliations and verify bankbooks before the 5th of each month.
• Record monthly commitments, recharges and analytical entries, ensuring correctness.
• Collaborate with program managers to share budgetary information and support grant reporting.
• Work with logistics and administration teams to ensure procurement compliance.
• Disseminate accounting procedures and internal control policies to staff and country offices.

Required profile

• Relevant experience in finance, accounting or grants management, preferably in the humanitarian or nonprofit sector.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, donor compliance and government financial regulations.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams and communicate financial information clearly.
• Attention to detail and high standards of integrity and accountability.
