Geology Manager – Mining

About the role

First Quantum is seeking a self‑motivated Geology Manager to lead the Mine Geology team at the Kansanshi mine. The role reports to the Mine Technical Manager and sits on the senior management team, driving the development of mineral resources and supporting mining and processing operations.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain a “THINK safety” culture across the geology function.
• Assess and optimise mine geology performance, including annual budgeting and cost control.
• Oversee data acquisition, QA/QC and data management for geological datasets.
• Develop and update geology models, block models and ore‑control plans.
• Convert resources to reserves and integrate geological inputs with mine planning, blasting, mining and processing.
• Lead the geology team through mentoring, training and technical direction.
• Identify and develop near‑mine mineral resource opportunities and drive technical innovation.

Required profile

• Recognised tertiary qualification in geoscience.
• Membership of a recognised professional organisation (NI 43‑101 compliance).
• Preferred qualification in business management or leadership.
• Minimum ten years of relevant experience in mining geology.
• Proven ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders.
