IT and Digital Transformation Senior Specialist

About the role

People in Need is seeking a senior professional to lead its Systems and Operations function in Zambia. Reporting directly to the Country Director, the Head of Systems and Operations will ensure that finance, HR and logistics processes are aligned with organisational and donor standards while driving digital transformation across the country programme.

Key responsibilities

• Guarantee that systems and operational procedures support the Country Strategy and comply with PIN and donor guidelines.
• Standardise and harmonise processes for finance, human resources and logistics.
• Facilitate effective communication between support functions and programme teams.
• Oversee the overall country programme economy, identify gaps and mitigate financial or procedural risks.
• Manage support‑department budgets, improve needs planning and contribute to budgeting for new projects.
• Provide technical guidance to finance, HR and logistics teams to optimise budgeting, procurement, asset management and reporting.
• Lead capacity‑building initiatives to strengthen staff competencies in systems and operations.

Required profile

• Proven senior‑level experience in managing finance, HR and logistics operations within an international NGO or similar environment.
• Strong understanding of donor compliance, financial risk management and operational best practices.
• Demonstrated ability to lead cross‑functional teams and drive process improvement.
• Excellent communication skills in English and ability to work collaboratively with programme staff.
