QA/QC Dipping Hand – Blast Hole Inspection

About the role

The QA/QC Dipping Hand is responsible for inspecting drilled and loaded blast holes to ensure they meet design specifications, safety standards, and operational requirements. This role supports safe and efficient blasting operations by accurately measuring, recording, and reporting blast‑hole conditions before charging and blasting.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct QA/QC inspections on drilled and loaded blast holes to verify compliance with approved designs.
• Measure dip, depth, and condition of blast holes and record data prior to charging.
• Identify, mark, and report collapsed, blocked, short‑drilled, or over‑drilled holes for corrective action.
• Verify stemming heights and explosive loading parameters against specifications.
• Ensure over‑drilled holes are backfilled and documented according to procedures.
• Maintain accurate QA/QC records, measurements, and inspection reports.
• Report deviations, quality issues, and safety concerns to the QA/QC Area Supervisor.
• Support drilling and blasting crews to achieve safe, productive operations.

Required profile

• Grade Twelve (12) School Certificate or equivalent.
• Verified ZAQA Certificate.
• Strong attention to detail.
• High level of integrity and accountability.
• Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
• Good verbal and written communication abilities.
• Problem‑solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
