Senior Process Control Specialist – Operations

About the role

As a senior member of the process optimisation team, you will drive performance improvements at the Sentinel copper concentrator plant. Reporting to the Optimization Superintendent, you will identify opportunities, develop advanced control strategies and integrate AI to enhance plant stability and product quality.

Key responsibilities

• Perform in‑depth data analysis to pinpoint and prioritise process improvement opportunities.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to implement changes that boost plant efficiency.
• Develop, tune and maintain base‑layer and expert controllers for optimal process stability.
• Design and deploy adaptive advanced process control strategies, including soft sensors for real‑time monitoring.
• Lead the integration of AI applications into process control, working closely with IT and automation teams.
• Coach and mentor local staff, delivering training on the latest control technologies and methodologies.

Required profile

• Deep understanding of metallurgical operations in a high‑throughput copper concentrator.
• Strong knowledge of process engineering and key engineering disciplines (mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, process control).
• Familiarity with project management best practices.
• Proven ability to present technical information to diverse audiences.
• Effective time‑management skills with a track record of meeting deadlines.
