Superintendent – Contracts (Mining)

About the role

The Superintendent – Contracts will lead the Contracts function for Kansanshi Mining operations, ensuring robust commercial discipline, effective supplier contracts and alignment with the Commercial strategy. Reporting to the Manager Commercial, the role supports safe, efficient procurement and inbound supply chain services across mining, processing and smelting activities.

Key responsibilities

• Coach and develop the Contracts team, maintaining high performance standards.
• Maintain strategic and critical supplier contracts, ensuring full coverage and timely renewal.
• Draft, negotiate and enforce high‑quality supplier contracts.
• Provide commercial advice and build strong relationships with heads of departments.
• Identify and implement contract process improvements to increase efficiency.
• Monitor contracting processes, flagging risks and issues early.
• Uphold the highest health and safety standards in line with Kansanshi policies.

Required profile

• Proven leadership experience in a contracts or procurement environment.
• Ability to coach, train and raise team capability.
• Strong commercial acumen with a focus on supplier performance and cost savings.
• Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills.
