About the role
The Associate will support CHAI’s medical oxygen programme in Zambia, working closely with the Ministry of Health and partners to implement the National Medical Oxygen Strategic Plan and address facility‑level oxygen needs.
Key responsibilities
- Build effective relationships with the Ministry of Health and oxygen stakeholders, and support coordination of the Medical Oxygen Technical Working Group.
- Support the establishment and functioning of oxygen committees at Level 3 and 4 facilities and provincial health offices, ensuring documentation and escalation of findings.
- Assist the Ministry in implementing the National Medical Oxygen Strategic Plan, coordinating partners and prioritising interventions based on evidence and system needs.
- Conduct site visits to medical gas pipeline system installations to monitor compliance with technical and regulatory specifications.
- Participate in forecasting, quantification, and costing exercises to inform national planning and future financing of medical oxygen procurements.
