Carpenter / Artisan – Maintenance & Installation

About the role

First Quantum is seeking a skilled Artisan Carpenter to safely execute maintenance and installation tasks across its operations. The role focuses on constructing, renovating, and repairing wood structures while ensuring compliance with health, safety, and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Adhere to all health, safety, environment, and quality policies and legal regulations.
• Construct, erect, install, renovate, and repair wooden structures and fixtures.
• Follow planned and preventative maintenance schedules and interpret technical drawings.
• Perform new kitchen installations and maintain existing kitchens, including cutting, buffing, and installing granite countertops.
• Report incidents promptly and maintain safety and substation logbooks.
• Manage stock levels of woodworking equipment and report defective items.
• Maintain safe usage of hand tools, report defects, and control tool replacements.
• Carry out any additional duties assigned by the Direct Carpentry Supervisor.

Required profile

• Minimum Full ZAQA Certified Grade Twelve (Grade 12) certificate.
• Craft Certificate from a recognized institution.
• At least five years of relevant work experience.
• Demonstrated behavioural traits such as boldness, teamwork, initiative, safety focus, and quality orientation.
• Willingness to perform standby, overtime, and shift work as needed.
