Civil Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Civil Engineer to join our office‑based team in Kitwe. This role offers practical experience in planning, design, construction, and management of tailings storage facilities while working alongside experienced engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Support senior engineers with civil engineering design, technical studies, calculations and project documentation.
• Assist with planning, design and assessment of tailings storage facilities and associated infrastructure.
• Analyse technical data and contribute to engineering reports and design deliverables.
• Support preparation of tender and contract documentation.
• Assist with project administration, progress tracking and document control.
• Participate in contract administration, construction methodologies, quality assurance and stakeholder coordination.
• Collaborate with engineers, project managers, clients, contractors and multidisciplinary professionals.
• Act as Assistant Resident Engineer when required, supporting construction monitoring and site‑based activities.

Required profile

• BSc/BEng in Civil Engineering with 5+ years’ experience in civil engineering.
• Experience or exposure to mine residue, tailings management or geotechnical projects is advantageous.
• Proven experience in site investigations within mining or construction environments.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving abilities and attention to technical accuracy.
• Effective communication, interpersonal skills and collaborative approach.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Experience with Civil 3D or similar engineering software.
