QAQC Engineer – Construction

About the role

The QAQC Engineer will ensure that construction activities meet all quality, safety, environmental and regulatory standards. You will develop and implement project‑specific quality plans and support the successful delivery of large‑scale earthworks projects.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement Quality Management Plans (QMPs) and Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) for each project.
• Conduct quality audits, inspections and witness field and laboratory testing.
• Identify non‑conformances, coordinate corrective actions and lead root‑cause investigations.
• Liaise with engineers, supervisors, contractors and consultants on QA/QC matters.
• Maintain complete, auditable QA/QC documentation and support project close‑out and handover.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in earthworks and construction quality assurance.
• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management or related field.
• Professional registration with a recognized engineering body (EIZ/ERB).
• Demonstrated experience with bulk earthworks, embankments, drainage systems and field quality control.
• Visible commitment to safety and responsible tailings management.

Required skills

• Strong understanding of geotechnical engineering and earthworks principles.
• Proficiency in QA/QC processes, ITPs, hold points and non‑conformance management.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications and method statements.
• Experience with root cause analysis, technical queries, design changes and management of change.
• Clear technical writing, document control and stakeholder communication.
