Consumables Inventory Controller (Mkushi, Zambia)

About the role

The Consumables Inventory Controller coordinates the supply of consumables to the plant, ensuring uninterrupted production. The role combines inventory management, safety compliance and continuous improvement in a fast‑moving warehouse environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead HSE initiatives in line with ISO 45001 and Bayer safety standards, including risk assessments and incident reporting.
• Monitor stock levels, conduct weekly inventory counts and reconcile physical stock with SAP data.
• Maintain product quality in storage areas and ensure accurate data entry into the information system.
• Prepare and document material transfers, manage housekeeping standards and supervise two assistant controllers.
• Support implementation of the onePSS warehouse management system and drive cost‑efficient resource use.
• Receive consumable deliveries, verify invoices against stock and report any deviations to the supervisor.

Required profile

• Minimum Grade 12 education with 2–3 years experience in warehouse processes and supervision.
• Preferably a logistics or warehouse management qualification and a forklift driver certification.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, fluent in English.
• Results‑focused, able to work independently and make timely decisions.
• Familiarity with SAP is an advantage.
