Data Entry Clerk

About the role

The Data Entry Clerk will work in a laboratory setting for a global healthcare and crop science innovation company. The role focuses on accurately entering, verifying, and maintaining laboratory data to support quality control and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Enter laboratory test results, sample details, and related information into the laboratory information system or data registers promptly and accurately.
• Verify data for completeness, correctness, and consistency before submission or filing.
• Maintain records for samples received, tested, stored, and disposed of according to laboratory procedures.
• Report any discrepancies to the supervisor and assist in resolving missing or unclear data.
• Prepare routine laboratory reports, summaries, and quality‑control documentation.
• Ensure all records are traceable, up‑to‑date, and readily retrievable for audits and inspections.
• Collaborate with laboratory technicians, analysts, and quality staff to maintain data integrity.

Required profile

• Minimum Grade 12 (5 O' Levels) certificate; a diploma or bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or Business Administration is an advantage.
• Strong knowledge or background in agronomy/agriculture.
• Understanding of data confidentiality and security protocols.
• Excellent organisational and record‑keeping abilities.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
