Earthworks Supervisor – Construction

About the role

First Quantum is looking for an Earthworks Supervisor to coordinate and supervise daily field construction activities. The role ensures that works are carried out in line with approved designs, specifications and safety standards, while providing regular progress reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and supervise daily field construction activities.
• Ensure works are executed according to approved designs and specifications.
• Monitor workforce productivity, equipment and labour resources.
• Support short‑term and weekly construction planning and provide daily/weekly progress reports.
• Track project schedules, identify potential delays and report physical progress against targets.
• Coordinate inspections with QA/QC personnel and lead frontline safety management.
• Conduct pre‑work inspections, toolbox talks and ensure compliance with permits and safe work procedures.

Required profile

• Full Grade 12 certificate.
• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in civil, mining or water engineering.
• Professional registration with a recognized engineering body (EIZ/ERB).
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in earthworks and construction, including bulk earthworks, dams, drainage systems and field quality control.
• Visible commitment to safety and sound professional judgement.
• Collaborative stakeholder engagement and strong record‑keeping discipline.
