About the role
The Finance and Grants Officer will manage daily financial transactions and grant administration for Action Against Hunger Zambia. Reporting to the Support Services Manager, the role ensures accurate budgeting, compliance with donor and governmental policies, and supports program delivery across the country.
Key responsibilities
- Execute day‑to‑day financial transactions and maintain accurate accounting records.
- Prepare and submit accountancy bundles, budget forecasts (BFUs) and financial reports on time.
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations and verify bankbooks before the 5th of each month.
- Record monthly commitments, recharges and analytical entries ensuring correctness.
- Collaborate with Program Managers, logistics and administration teams to ensure procurement and internal control compliance.
- Disseminate accounting procedures and policies to staff and country offices.
- Ensure compliance with IFRS, internal policies and Zambian government regulations.
Required profile
- Strong attention to detail and high integrity in handling financial resources.
- Ability to work collaboratively with multiple teams and senior management.
- Good understanding of nonprofit financial management and donor compliance.
