Grants Officer

About the role

The Grants Officer will join the Grants, Projects and Stakeholder Relations team, overseeing the full lifecycle of grant and tender opportunities—from identification through application, award, and implementation reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct market analysis to identify new funding opportunities aligned with renewable energy and rural electrification projects.
• Create and maintain an Annual Grants Plan, tracking all applied and passed opportunities.
• Prepare and consolidate compelling grant applications, including drafting full proposals and coordinating required information.
• Ensure timely submission of all grant requirements and manage a repository of supporting documentation.
• Develop and maintain a Grant Tracking Tool to monitor progress, compliance, and performance.
• Support legal counsel in contracting and compliance matters related to grants and subsidies.
• Facilitate monthly stakeholder meetings and provide governance support to ensure alignment and strategy execution.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related field.
• Minimum three years of experience in grant management with a strong understanding of grant processes.
• Ability to assess proposals, identify financial and operational risks, and make evidence‑based recommendations.
• Interest in renewable energy and rural electrification initiatives in Africa.

Required skills

• Experience with funding programs and grant management processes.
• Proficiency in MS Office tools.
• Excellent written English communication.
• Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
