Health and Nutrition Officer

About the role

The Health and Nutrition Officer will support the implementation of nutrition and health activities at the field level, working directly with communities and partners to manage acute malnutrition, infant nutrition, and integrated child health services.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee management of acute malnutrition, MIYCAN, MAMi, ICCM and SBCC programmes at health facilities and community outreach sites.
• Provide technical support to ensure integration of nutrition services within broader health and WASH activities.
• Supervise daily implementation, monitor performance indicators and ensure timely reporting.
• Build capacity of VHTs, care group volunteers, health workers and district staff through training and mentorship.
• Coordinate with local governmental, NGOs and international partners for information sharing, supervision and technical alignment.
• Identify and verify programme participants, monitor programme delivery and troubleshoot field‑level challenges.

Required profile

• Relevant degree in Nutrition, Public Health, or a related field.
• Experience working in humanitarian or community health programmes, preferably with malnutrition management.
• Strong understanding of MIYCAN, MAMi, ICCM and SBCC approaches.
• Ability to supervise field teams, conduct trainings and engage with diverse stakeholders.

Required skills

• Knowledge of malnutrition management protocols (e.g., MIYCAN, MAMi, ICCM).
