Health and Nutrition Officer

About the role

The Health and Nutrition Officer will support the implementation of nutrition and health interventions at the field level for Action Against Hunger. This role ensures effective management of acute malnutrition, infant nutrition programs, and integrated child health services while fostering community engagement.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and supervise acute malnutrition management, MIYCAN, MAMi, ICCM, and SBCC activities at health facilities and outreach sites.
• Provide technical support and capacity‑building to Village Health Teams, care‑group volunteers, health workers, and district partners.
• Coordinate with WASH and Food Security officers to integrate multi‑sectoral activities.
• Identify and verify programme participants, conduct routine monitoring, and produce timely reports.
• Serve as the primary liaison between Action Against Hunger and the communities, addressing implementation challenges on the ground.

Required profile

• Experience in implementing nutrition and health programmes in humanitarian or low‑resource settings.
• Proven ability to supervise field activities and work collaboratively with local partners.
• Strong knowledge of malnutrition management protocols and community health approaches.
