Junior Metallurgist

About the role

We are looking for a Junior Metallurgist to join the process team at First Quantum. You will support plant operations by monitoring performance, collecting data and assisting metallurgical technicians to ensure safety, productivity and quality targets are met.

Key responsibilities

• Collect and analyse plant data from control system historians and sampling programmes.
• Support metallurgists and operations with technical advice and test work to optimise front‑end and back‑end processes.
• Prepare daily, weekly and monthly metallurgy reports and enter data accurately.
• Conduct circuit surveys and laboratory tests under guidance to improve plant performance.
• Identify improvement opportunities and help drive their implementation.
• Act as a liaison between metallurgists and metallurgical technicians.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of experience in a mineral processing or metallurgical environment.
• Strong analytical mindset with ability to spot process bottlenecks.
• Good communication skills for reporting findings upward and downward.
• Motivated, proactive and able to work in a multicultural, high‑pressure setting.
