Mechanical Process Artisan – Maintenance & Repair

About the role

The Mechanical Process Artisan is responsible for maintaining the reliability and safety of plant and process equipment. You will perform preventive and corrective maintenance, install and commission new machinery, and troubleshoot breakdowns to minimise production downtime.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventive maintenance on mechanical systems and equipment.
• Diagnose faults, perform corrective repairs, and replace worn components on pumps, compressors, conveyors, gearboxes, valves and piping.
• Install, align, commission and overhaul mechanical equipment according to manufacturer specifications.
• Investigate equipment breakdowns, determine root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, job cards and inspection checklists.
• Participate in risk assessments, toolbox talks, lockout/tagout procedures and safety inspections.
• Collaborate with operations teams to minimise production interruptions and support continuous‑improvement projects.

Required profile

• Proven experience in mechanical maintenance within an industrial or manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of safety, health, environment and quality (SHEQ) standards.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and maintenance procedures.
• Good communication skills and a team‑oriented mindset.
