Portfolio Management Consultant

About the role

The Portfolio Management Consultant will own an assigned set of pilots end‑to‑end for FINCA International’s Poverty Eradication Lab, managing product vision, business case, and partner relationships. The role drives pilots through intake, design, execution and scale decisions while ensuring alignment with FINCA’s impact and commercial goals.

Key responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end pilot outcomes, defining the customer problem, hypothesis, success metrics and execution plan.
• Maintain real‑time visibility over pilot progress, risks, dependencies and funding, and prepare decision‑ready materials for leadership review.
• Develop and track product success criteria, monitor performance and translate learnings into recommendations for refinement, scale or discontinuation.
• Manage external partner and funder relationships, acting as the primary point of contact for pilot‑related inquiries.
• Collaborate cross‑functionally with HCD, research, program, technology and subsidiary teams to validate assumptions and ensure smooth execution.
• Report pilot findings, performance and recommendations to the Global Product Lead and Chief Product & Customer Officer.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, economics, international development or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 3–5 years of experience in product management or digital product management, preferably in financial inclusion, micro‑finance or emerging markets.
• Strong understanding of credit products and lending mechanics.
• Experience developing and launching customer‑facing financial products such as loans, savings or wallets.

Required skills

• Agile product development experience.
• Familiarity with Miro, Jira/MS Planner and AI tools such as Claude.
