Procurement Manager

About the role

The Procurement Manager will lead the vendor management function within the bank, building strong internal relationships and delivering high‑performance cost, service and quality outcomes. This role is responsible for shaping procurement strategy, driving automation, and ensuring compliance with regional policies and legislation.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to resolve complex procurement issues.
• Design performance standards and evaluation processes for vendor management.
• Lead, coach, and assess the vendor management team, conducting regular feedback and performance appraisals.
• Build analytics infrastructure to provide accurate spend data for stakeholders.
• Drive efficiencies in procurement strategies, policies, and processes, incorporating digitisation and local legislative requirements.
• Automate end‑to‑end vendor contract management and reporting.
• Govern supplier relationships and ensure compliance with Standard Bank Group procurement policies.
• Partner with People & Culture to develop team expertise and promote learning.
• Manage third‑party risk assessments and serve as a subject‑matter expert on complex projects.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Procurement & Supply Chain Management, Purchasing & Supply, Business Administration/Commerce, Logistics or a related field.
