Project Coordinator (PC)

About the role

The Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) is seeking a Project Coordinator to support the Sustainable Fish Value Chains for Landlocked Developing Countries (SVC4LLDCs) project, funded by the Republic of Korea and implemented in Kyrgyzstan and Zambia. The role contributes to FAO’s strategic objectives of better production, better nutrition, a better environment, and a better life, focusing on inclusive green growth and environmental sustainability.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in planning, implementation, and monitoring of project activities aligned with the Zambia Country Programming Framework.
• Coordinate technical assistance, data collection, and reporting for the SVC4LLDCs project.
• Facilitate communication among FAO divisions, country offices, partners, and donors.
• Ensure compliance with FAO guidelines, gender‑responsive approaches, and environmental standards.
• Prepare progress reports, financial updates, and documentation for stakeholders.
• Organize meetings, workshops, and knowledge‑sharing events.

Required profile

• University degree in agriculture, fisheries, environmental science, development studies or a related field.
• Relevant experience in project coordination within international development or UN agencies.
• Understanding of sustainable fisheries, value‑chain development, and green growth concepts.
• Familiarity with FAO or UN procedural frameworks and reporting requirements.
• Ability to work in multicultural settings and adapt to field environments.
