Purchasing Lead

About the role

We are looking for a proactive Purchasing Lead to drive and optimise our procurement activities. The role ensures timely acquisition of high‑quality goods and services while delivering best value and complying with company policies and local regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Manage core and non‑core procurement processes, guaranteeing cost‑effective, on‑time delivery.
• Source, evaluate, negotiate and monitor suppliers, maintaining strong vendor relationships and KPIs.
• Ensure compliance with procurement policies, internal controls, legal requirements and vendor onboarding procedures.
• Partner with internal stakeholders to provide guidance on purchasing needs, planning and budgeting.
• Identify cost‑saving opportunities and support continuous improvement of procurement strategies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Procurement, Supply Chain Management or related field.
• CIPS Level 5 Advanced Diploma or equivalent.
• Membership of the Zambia Institute of Purchasing and Supply (ZIPS).
• Minimum 8 years of experience in procurement, purchasing or supply‑chain management.
• Proven track record in supplier management, sourcing and contract negotiation.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP systems.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Strong command of Microsoft Office applications.
