Operations Coordinator (Camp Manager)

About the role

The Operations Coordinator will manage day‑to‑day activities at the Chimfunshi Education Centre and Camp, ensuring a welcoming experience for volunteers, researchers, interns and visitors. The role combines hospitality, logistics, security and workshop coordination to keep the camp running smoothly in a remote conservation setting.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee camp operations, cleanliness, maintenance and guest orientation.
• Supervise cleaners and general staff, allocate tasks and monitor performance.
• Manage bookings, arrival/departure logistics and maintain accurate occupancy records.
• Coordinate food and beverage services, event setup and gift‑shop stock.
• Handle daily logistics, vehicle scheduling, fuel monitoring and security staff rotas.
• Maintain workshop organization, tool inventory and repair requests.
• Collect guest feedback, prepare monthly operational reports and suggest improvements.

Required profile

• Degree or diploma in Hospitality, Tourism, Business Administration, Logistics or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Previous experience in hospitality, tourism, camp operations, logistics or a comparable operational role, including staff supervision.
