About the role
The Quality Control Assistant will support the Global Healthcare and Crop Science Innovation company by ensuring that raw materials, in‑process items and finished products meet defined quality specifications. The role involves inspecting materials, monitoring production, documenting results and assisting with corrective actions to maintain compliance and reduce defects.
Key responsibilities
- Inspect raw materials, in‑process items, and finished products to verify compliance with specifications and quality standards.
- Monitor production and operational processes to identify defects, deviations, or non‑conformities.
- Record inspection and testing results accurately and maintain up‑to‑date quality control documentation.
- Prepare quality reports, non‑conformance reports, inspection logs, and related records.
- Assist in investigating quality complaints, product failures, and process issues to determine root causes.
- Support the implementation of corrective and preventive actions to address identified quality issues.
- Participate in internal audits, process reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with production to resolve quality concerns.
- Verify that products are labeled, packed, stored, and released according to approved quality requirements.
- Promote compliance with safety, hygiene, housekeeping, and regulatory requirements in the workplace.
- Escalate critical quality concerns promptly to the relevant supervisor or manager.
Required profile
- A Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Agriculture or related fields.
- Registered member of the Agricultural Institute of Zambia (AIZ).
- Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
- Good analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to identify defects, trends, and non‑conformities quickly and accurately.
- Sound report writing and record‑keeping skills.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic to intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines without compromising quality.
- Integrity, accountability, and a commitment to maintaining standards.
