Superintendent, Dewatering

About the role

The Dewatering Superintendent joins the Technical team reporting to the Hydro Manager and leads the design, installation, operation and maintenance of pump infrastructure supporting mining dewatering activities. You will work closely with engineers, planners, hydrogeologists and maintenance technicians to ensure reliable, efficient water management across the site.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the evaluation, design and execution of complex dewatering projects, including pump specifications, electrical specifications, VSD installations and staged pumping systems.
• Design, select, install, operate and maintain surface and borehole pump systems, pipelines, valves, controls and related skid/float equipment.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver infrastructure projects on time, within budget and to quality standards.
• Identify and implement improvements to pump efficiency, reliability and safety such as protection circuits and automated cut‑off switches.
• Ensure all staff and contractors are safety‑compliant, inducted and work under controlled risk conditions.
• Coordinate with Mine Planning to anticipate and execute infrastructure relocations.
• Manage pipe‑welding, pipe and pump repositioning, borehole activities, budgeting, procurement and commissioning.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in mining dewatering or similar heavy‑industrial water management projects.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage large‑scale technical projects.
• Strong focus on safety, compliance and risk management.
