Area Supervisor, Production – Load and Haul

About the role

The Area Supervisor, Production – Load and Haul will lead mine crews in surface mining operations, ensuring safety, performance monitoring and efficient use of equipment. This role is central to optimizing pit activities and driving productivity while adhering to First Quantum’s safety and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise mine crews and monitor overall development performance.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, environment, quality, finance and HR policies.
• Work with Pit Operations to optimise utilisation of ancillary equipment.
• Investigate new concepts for safety, productivity and cost‑saving opportunities.
• Oversee operations within an excavator loading unit in the pit.
• Follow instructions from supervisors and adhere to established procedures and regulations.
• Perform any other related duties as required.

Required profile

• Grade 12 Certificate.
• Valid Blasting Licence.
• Valid First Aid Certificate.
• Certificate in Mining Engineering.
• Minimum of 3 years experience in the mining industry.
• High competency in core mining business disciplines.
• Advanced computer literacy.
• Proven ability to communicate effectively at all organisational levels.
