Branch Manager – Kitwe

About the role

The Branch Manager will lead the Kitwe branch of NICO Insurance Zambia Limited, overseeing underwriting, claims, and business development activities. The role focuses on driving growth, profitability, and strong relationships with brokers, clients, and other stakeholders while ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute business development initiatives to meet premium and profitability targets.
• Build and maintain relationships with brokers, corporate clients, and key stakeholders.
• Manage underwriting and claims processes in line with company strategy.
• Monitor premium collection, ensure profitability and timely documentation.
• Oversee reinsurance calculations and facultative placements.
• Prepare regular branch performance reports.
• Resolve client complaints and uphold service level agreements.
• Lead, coach, and manage branch staff performance.

Required profile

• First degree in Business Administration, Insurance, Finance, Economics or related field.
• Chartered Insurance qualification (ACII or equivalent) is an advantage.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in general insurance, underwriting, or branch operations.
• Proven business development and relationship‑management experience within the insurance sector.
• Experience working with brokers and corporate clients.
• Knowledge of reinsurance practices is desirable.
