Chef – Hospital Canteen (Baking & Pastry)

About the role

We are seeking a skilled Chef to join the canteen team at CFB Medical Centre in Lusaka. The role focuses on preparing nutritious meals and a wide range of baked goods for hospital staff, patients, and visitors.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and cook diverse meals, desserts, pastries, breads, and cakes.
• Creatively decorate and present baked items and plated dishes.
• Manage ingredient inventory, ensuring freshness and quality.
• Maintain strict hygiene and food‑safety standards throughout kitchen operations.
• Collaborate with the Executive Chef on menu design, including special‑occasion baked goods.
• Assist with catering for hospital events and functions as needed.

Required profile

• Full Grade 12 Certificate with credit in English.
• Diploma in Food Production, Culinary Arts, or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Chef with proven baking and pastry skills.
• Creative flair and strong attention to detail in food preparation and presentation.
• Knowledge of food hygiene, health, and safety practices.
