Clinical Officer

About the role

The Clinical Officer will provide comprehensive HIV and primary health care services within a health facility and community setting in Zambia. The role focuses on delivering ART management, HIV counselling, and related preventive and therapeutic interventions to achieve national treatment targets.

Key responsibilities

• Implement high‑yield HIV testing strategies, including index testing, self‑testing, and provider‑initiated testing.
• Initiate newly diagnosed clients on ART using rapid initiation protocols at both facility and community levels.
• Monitor viral load suppression, scale up VL testing services, and ensure 95% of initiated patients achieve viral suppression.
• Provide nutrition assessment (NACS) to eligible ART patients to improve adherence and retention.
• Deliver cervical cancer screening and management services.
• Maintain accurate documentation of ART, TPT, DSD models, PEP, PrEP, and related health records.

Required profile

• Fully paid‑up member of the Health Professions Council of Zambia (HPCZ).
• Minimum three years of experience in ART management and primary health care.
• Training in advanced ART management, eMTCT, EID services, and paediatric HIV care.
• Degree or diploma in Clinical Medicine with a strong background in community‑based health programming.
