Content Moderator (Trust and Safety Specialist)

About the role

The Content Moderator (Trust & Safety Specialist) ensures that user‑generated content on the platform complies with policies, legal standards, and community expectations. Working remotely, you will protect the online environment from harmful material while supporting a respectful and engaging user experience.

Key responsibilities

• Review and act on reported text, images, and videos, focusing on high‑priority queues and edge cases that need human judgment.
• Monitor daily queues to detect emerging abuse patterns and promptly escalate them to the Policy team.
• Provide feedback on moderation tool efficiency and suggest workflow improvements to boost speed without sacrificing accuracy.
• Maintain a high accuracy rate (95%+) on moderation decisions and participate in calibration sessions for consistency.
• Investigate removal or suspension cases, make fair reinstatement determinations, and serve as a responder during “red alert” events such as graphic live streams or coordinated harassment campaigns.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of experience in content moderation, trust & safety operations, or community management for a major tech or social media platform.
• Strong emotional resilience and proven strategies for handling disturbing content.
• Deep understanding of regional cultural nuances and the ability to differentiate hate speech from protected political expression.
• Track record of meeting high‑volume quality metrics (e.g., 80‑100+ items per hour) while maintaining attention to detail.

Required skills

• Proficiency with moderation tools such as Hive, Besedo, and Salesforce.
• Experience using Google Workspace for collaboration and reporting.
