Coordinator Dewatering Projects

About the role

The Dewatering Projects Coordinator supports the operational execution of dewatering activities at Sentinel Mine. Reporting to the Dewatering Superintendent, the role ensures pump systems operate efficiently to sustain productive mining operations.

Key responsibilities

• Execute operational tasks such as pipe‑welding, repositioning of pipes, pumps and boreholes.
• Develop short‑ to medium‑term dewatering infrastructure plans and contribute to pump system design (pump, pipe, electrical, skid/float requirements).
• Engage suppliers, manage budgeting, procurement and oversee on‑site installation.
• Commission pump installations, ensuring compliance with design specifications and safety standards.
• Monitor pump performance (flow rates, pressure, power/fuel consumption) and optimise system efficiency.
• Implement and schedule routine maintenance programmes, troubleshoot issues and assist with repairs.
• Support wet‑weather planning and assess in‑pit sump performance.
• Collaborate with engineers, planners, hydrogeologists and maintenance technicians.

Required profile

• Experience working on dewatering projects within a mining environment.
• Ability to coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including engineers and technicians.
• Strong organisational skills for budgeting, procurement and scheduling.
