Country Manager – Zambia

About the role

BURN is looking for a dynamic Country Manager to lead its Biomass business in Zambia. You will be the primary link between the headquarters and local teams, responsible for driving commercial performance, managing P&L, and representing the company with government and key stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Own and achieve sales volume, distribution quality, and profitability targets for the Zambian market.
• Localise and implement corporate strategies, ensuring alignment with HQ directives.
• Coordinate cross‑functional initiatives, legal and audit matters, and field‑team safety.
• Develop and deliver clear government‑focused messaging, manage stakeholder relationships, and support advocacy and lobbying efforts.
• Monitor regulatory developments, provide insights, and handle crisis communications with public officials.
• Facilitate regular in‑country team meetings and ensure a safe, productive office environment.

Required profile

• Proven senior commercial leadership experience, preferably in renewable energy or related sectors.
• Strong understanding of Zambian market dynamics and government relations.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• Ability to manage P&L, drive results, and lead multidisciplinary teams.
