Country Manager – Zambia

About the role

BURN is looking for a Country Manager to lead its Biomass business in Zambia. The role will drive commercial performance, coordinate local operations, and act as the primary liaison between headquarters and in‑country teams.

Key responsibilities

• Own and deliver on sales volumes, distribution quality, and profitability targets.
• Understand target customers and advise on community engagement, product updates, and market needs.
• Coordinate all local initiatives, legal and audit matters, and cross‑functional team meetings as guided by HQ.
• Manage financial probity, employee and customer satisfaction, and ensure safe, clean office and field environments.
• Develop and deliver clear messages for government stakeholders, support advocacy, lobbying, and crisis communication.
• Identify and engage regulators and key officials, monitor legislative changes, and organize events with government representatives.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in commercial management or country operations.
• Strong understanding of the biomass/renewable energy sector.
• Demonstrated ability to work with government agencies and regulators.
• Excellent stakeholder‑engagement and communication skills.
