About the role
The Country Sales Manager will lead BIA Group’s commercial growth in Zambia’s mining and construction sectors. Reporting to senior leadership, the role focuses on building strong client relationships, expanding the Construction Business Unit and underground activities, and positioning BIA as a preferred partner across the region.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and manage the full customer portfolio, including prospecting, retention, and expansion.
- Identify new business opportunities and conduct regular site visits with key mining clients.
- Drive the growth of the Construction Business Unit and underground operations in Zambia and the DRC.
- Prepare, negotiate and close equipment and service offers, supervising quotations and order execution.
- Achieve revenue, profitability and market‑share targets while ensuring compliance with financial, legal and risk policies.
- Define and implement commercial and marketing strategies based on market trends and competitor analysis.
- Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction and support cross‑functional collaboration.
- Prepare business plans, forecasts and performance reports; monitor sales pipeline and revenue forecasts.
- Lead, coach and develop the sales team to foster accountability and high performance.
Required profile
- Proven experience in sales leadership within the mining or construction equipment sector.
- Demonstrated ability to build and manage client relationships and drive business development.
- Strong commercial acumen with a track record of meeting revenue and margin objectives.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work autonomously and lead a high‑performing sales team.
